The FMN-V emulsion mist filter is a high-performance air filtration system designed for the highly efficient separation of emulsion mist, metalworking fluid mist, smoke, oil smoke, and small quantities of dust generated during industrial manufacturing processes. The FMN-V 5 to FMN-V 60 model series and larger units have been developed for demanding applications in which contaminated process air must be reliably captured and filtered and, depending on the system design, can be returned to the working area in recirculation mode. Airflow rates of up to 50.000 m³/h can be achieved.
Application areas of the FMN-V emulsion mist separator
The FMN-V is particularly suitable for production environments where extracting emulsion mist, filtering metalworking fluid mist, or removing smoke from machine tools are key requirements. The filter series is designed for processes that generate moist aerosols, smoke, ultrafine particles, and small quantities of dust. Thanks to its variable filter configuration, the system can be adapted to different machining processes, metalworking fluids, airflow volumes, and types of emissions.

Device features FMN-V emulsion mist separator
A key feature of the FMN-V emulsion mist separator is its well-engineered, multi-stage filter design. The housing is made of 1.5 mm sheet steel and welded to ensure a drip-tight construction. Inside, various slide-in rails allow the pre-filter stages to be configured flexibly. Two guide rails ensure that the final filter stage can be removed and serviced easily.
The pre-filter stages separate larger droplets, aerosol components, and initial particle loads. Depending on the application, they can be designed as reusable elements and cleaned by washing or spraying. The main filter stage is designed as a V-shaped H13 filter and provides highly efficient final separation of the finest particles and aerosol components.
A four-point clamping mechanism securely holds the final filter stage and the pre-filter stages in place. This prevents process air from bypassing the HEPA filter or the pre-filter stages. The result is reliable filtration with a high level of operational safety, even in demanding industrial applications.

Benefits for operators
The FMN-V emulsion mist separator helps operators make production processes cleaner, safer, and more cost-effective. Effective air purification reduces contamination around machinery, in production hall air, and at workstations. At the same time, separated liquid can be discharged in a controlled manner via the collection tray and drain connection.
Another advantage is its long-term retrofit capability. Since technical upgrades such as modern EC motors, improved filter media, or electronic monitoring systems can also be installed in older units, the FMN-V series remains adaptable for many years. This is particularly important when machining processes change, new metalworking fluids are introduced, or production capacities expand.
Application area of the filter system
- Low-maintenance design for continuous industrial operation
- Clean production hall air through reliable emulsion mist separation
- Reduction of deposits on machines, ceilings, floors, and ductwork
- Improved working conditions in metalworking
- Timely maintenance through optional filter monitoring
- Energy-efficient operation with frequency-controlled EC motors
- Adjustable airflow for changing process requirements
- Regenerable pre-filters reduce maintenance requirements
- Drip-tight housing design for safe liquid handling
- Flexible installation using mounting rails according to customer specifications
- Modular expansion for higher extraction airflow volumes
- Can be integrated into centralized or decentralized extraction systems
- Suitable for new installations and the modernization of existing filtration systems
The FMN-V is therefore not just a filtration unit, but a scalable system concept for industrial air purification. It can be used as a standalone unit on a single machine, as a group extraction system for several machining centers, or as part of a larger production hall air purification and heat recovery solution.
FMN-V for recirculation mode, heat recovery and summer/winter switching
The FMN-V series can be operated in recirculation mode, provided that the application, filter design, and operational requirements allow it. The advantage is that the cleaned air remains inside the building, helping to reduce heat loss. For larger airflow volumes in particular, a project-specific assessment is recommended. In such cases, heat recovery or an alternative summer/winter operating mode can help achieve the best possible balance between energy efficiency and process reliability.
In winter, the cleaned air can remain inside the building, reducing heating energy consumption. In summer, depending on the system design, a different airflow configuration may be appropriate to reduce heat loads. The FMN-V series provides a flexible technical basis for this and can be adapted to existing production conditions.
